GICHIGAMIIN INDIGENOUS NATIONS MUSEUM
PEL&OR was privileged to be selected to develop and implement the Gichigamiin Indigenous Nations Museum Prairie, Shade, and Food Garden, in Evanston, IL. Our planting design specialist took to the challenge and proposed a plan with over 50 different species, reflecting the original diversity of the region. Expected completion date is projected for May, 2025.
ALLENDALE POCKET PARK COMPETITION
Starting in 2025, PEL&OR took part in Allendale, NJ’s “Pocket Park” Competition, where participants worked to capture the essence of a small suburban town in a 40’x40′ park parcel. Our team came up with a plan that references the lost native flora of the region, and worked to develop a space that could be utilized by anyone at any time, regardless if they’re a visitor to the area passing through, or a local sitting peacefully with their morning coffee.
GICHIGAMIIN MUSEUM PRELIMINARY RENDERINGS
Before we could get started on the construction of the garden, our landscape architect worked to create a series of photo-realistic renderings to provide the client with an expected layout of the site. Digital plants were matched as best as possible to the real plants used in the garden, and real time conditions, such as shade and local textures, were added to maximize the realism of the images.
